Our Practice
Korumburra Medical Centre is a rural general practice that has been providing quality medical care to the community of Korumburra and outlying areas.
The practice has 12 consulting rooms and a well equipped treatment room. The practice provides a wide range of general practice services to a diverse population. It also provides medical cover to Gippsland Southern Health services Korumburra campus, both in patients and out patient care.
In 2014 we completed major renovations to the clinic which has allowed for the expansion of services to the community through clinic nurses and allied health specialists.

Our Doctors
Dr. Mark Bensley
MBBS Dip RACOG FRACGP
Dr Bensley has been with the clinic since 1997 and joined the partnership soon after. Dr Bensley has a keen interest in skin cancer detection and runs a weekly Skin clinic.
Dr. Clare Stainsby
MBBS Dip RACOG FRACGP FACRRM
Dr Stainsby joined our practice in 2006. She has an interest in hypnosis and offers private consults for this. Dr Stainsby currently does not take on any new patients.
Dr. David Selvanayagam
MBBS FRACGP
Dr Selvanayagam has been with KMC since 2017. He graduated from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka with his medical degree over a decade ago. He has 8 years of medical experience in Australia including working as a registrar of Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Peninsula Health. He enjoys all areas of General Practice, but his special interests are general medicine and geriatrics. Dr. Selvanayagam also speaks Tamil and Sinhala.
Dr. Yan Lu
MBBS FRACGP
Dr. Lu joined the practice in February 2018. After obtaining her fellowship she now works at the clinic part-time. Dr. Lu has completed a Diploma of emergency medicine and has certificates in children’s health, dermoscopy and skin cancer screening. She is currently working towards an advanced certificate of dermoscopy.
Dr. Lu speaks both English and Mandarin.
Dr. Rachael Sim
MBBS
Dr. Rachael is one of our first year registrars who are joining us for 2023. Dr. Racheal graduated with her medical degree from Monash University Malaysia and has since pursued further training in pediatrics by completing the Sydney Children Health Program. She enjoys all areas of General Practice and speaks both English and Mandarin.
Dr. Peter Lewis
MBBS Dip RACOG
Dr Lewis has been at the clinic since 1991 and is also one of the 2 partners. Peter has an interest in anaesthetics and is a keen cyclist.
Dr. DaMing Chi
MBBS FRACGP
Dr Chi joined the practice in August 2016 and soon after obtained his fellowship. He now consults at the clinic 2 days a week. Dr. Chi speaks both English and Mandarin.
Dr. Paul Cotton
MBBS(Hons) FRACGP
Dr. Paul Cotton completed his medical degree at Monash University in 2016. He trained through Monash Health, including terms in paediatrics and addiction medicine. He has further training in emergency medicine (completing the Emergency Medicine Certificate) and paediatrics (Sydney Child Health Program). He is happy to see and manage all areas of general practice. When not working he can be found off-roading and enjoying the outdoors in his camper trailer. Dr Cotton currently does not take on any new pateints.
Dr. Patrick Halton
Patrick completed his medical degree at the Australian National University in Canberra, then moved to Tasmania for further training before relocating to Gippsland in 2023. Patrick is a second term registrar. Outside of work Patrick enjoys a cup of coffee, watching football and going on hikes.
Dr. Slesha Amatya
MBBS
Dr Slesha is a GPT3. Dr Slesha graduated with her medical degree in 2020. She has a special interest in women's health. In Slesha spare time, she enjoys hiking and yoga. Dr Slesha speaks English and Nepali.
Dr. Kautilya Jaiswal
MBBS
Dr Kautilya is a 2nd year registrar. He graduated with his medical degree in 2016. He has a special interest in mens health and palliative care. Dr Kautilya speaks English and Hindi
